You're really going to get bored of these by the time i'm finished...
This is an interesting shot. The thing that really intrigues me about it is the stories that seem to go with it. The first thing here in the emotion that appears in those eyes. They've clearly seen a lot, and there's something almost sad/almost wise about his gaze. It really adds a lot to the photo. As someone else has already said, the scars of his muzzle and the slight piece taken out of his nose add to the story.
As for the image itself. The colours are really nice, and it's nice to have the whole frame filled by lion. However. The crop isn't one of your best. I know it probably wasn't possible, but i'd have much preferred a centralised and symmetrical crop for a shot like this. This one looks slightly off to me..
